As part of the Department of Education & Skills Digital Strategy for Schools to 2027, St. Conleth’s National School have a Digital Learning Plan (DLP), which aims to embed digital technologies into teaching and learning. As part of our DLP, we have invested in Chromebooks, iPads, BeeBots, Micro:bits and Smartboard screens in each classroom. In our school, iPads and laptops are used for many different learning opportunities such as research and content creation. We use Nessy, Literacy Planet, Accelerated Reader and Google Workspace across various class levels.

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to support learners at risk of educational disadvantage due to a digital divide and who require access to ICT infrastructure to engage with learning both inside and outside the classroom. It has funded activities to support numeracy, problem solving and computational thinking, using technology such as robotics and coding, activities to support literacy, and curriculum delivery of subjects such as history using digital storytelling. It has allowed us to expand the use of Digital Portfolios, and provide opportunities to develop digital skills.
