Home School Liaison Community Officer

A Note from Brenda – HSCL Coordinator

My name is Brenda Byrne, and I’m delighted to be the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) in our school. I have worked in St. Conleth’s for almost 26 years now, 23 as a class teacher before moving into my current role 3 years ago.

My role is all about building strong, positive connections between home, school, and the wider community. We all want our children to do well. As parents, you are your child’s primary educator. You know your child best. At the heart of what I do is a simple idea - when parents and schools work closely together, children are given the very best chance to succeed and feel happy in their learning.

A big part of my work is supporting and encouraging parents in any way I can. This might be through a chat at the school gate, a visit at home, or by organising courses, coffee mornings, and workshops here in school. These are great opportunities for parents to meet each other, share ideas, and feel even more a part of school life.

I’m also here to make sure families feel comfortable coming to school with questions, concerns, or even just for a friendly chat. Sometimes I can help directly, and other times I can link families with local services or supports that might be useful. No matter what, my door is always open.

If you ever need advice, information, or support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. All conversations will be treated with confidence. You can reach me by email at brenda.byrne@stconleths.org or on 089416 4168 (call, text, or WhatsApp).

I look forward to meeting and working with you throughout the year.
