U12&U10 GAA Handball Tournament
3rd Dec 2025
Last week, six children from Fourth Class, and six children from Sixth Class competed in a GAA Handball tournament held in Gaelcholáiste Maigh Nuad, and Maynooth Boys' School.
St. Conleth's took home nine medals, all twelve of the children entered making great efforts in their matches, despite many of them not having held a handball before the start of the week!
Congratulations to Hannah Mulligan and Clodagh Grogan, who both had fantastic performances in their group games, as well as 4th Class students Fiadh McCormack, who finished 1st in the U10 Girls' Singles Cup, Luke McKenna, who finished 1st in the U10 Boys' Singles Shield, as well as Cormac Burke and Cian O'Reilly, who both made it to the final of their U10 Boys' Doubles Shield, finishing 2nd.
Congratulations also Shaun Carty, who held his own brilliantly against great competition in the U12 Singles Tournament, narrowly losing his two matches. Sophie Glennon finished 2nd in the U12 Girls' Singles tournament, while Clodagh Grogan and Rachel Byrne won the U12 Girls' Doubles Shield! Dylan Byrne and Alex Moore narrowly were beaten in their U12 Boys' Doubles Shield, but demonstrated great determination and communication throughout their three matches.
It was a great day enjoyed by all, and was great for the children to try a new sport!
