Safer Internet Day

27th Jan 2026

Safer Internet Day (SID) is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people.

It is coordinated in Ireland by Oide Technology in Education and Webwise.

Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday, 10th February 2026.

Students from 1st class to 6th class have been learning how to stay safe while using the internet since Christmas in preparation for Safer Internet Day. To celebrate Safer Internet Day in St. Conleth's NS, children from these classes will participate in an awareness campaign, creating posters to be displayed around the school. There will be prizes for the best designs across 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th and 5th/6th. The digital committee are currently working on a presentation to present to classes on the day.

We invite parents play a role in making #SID2026 bigger and better by showing your support for a safer better internet for children and young people! There are a wealth of resources and support on this page and on www.webwise.ie

We would like to remind parents that personal mobile phones, devices including smart watches are not permitted in school or on school trips. In the event that a parent thinks that it is essential that their child possesses a device in school, parents must send a letter requesting this to Mrs. Kirk.
