Primary School Survey Results

17th Jun 2026

Here are the results of the Primary School Survey, which outline the preferences of parents/guardians of children currently enrolled at the school and the preferences of parents/guardians of children not yet enrolled, who indicated an intention to enrol in the school. The results outline preferences for co-educational or single-sex provision, patronage/ethos and language of instruction (English or Irish.) The attached results have been provided to the school's Patron, Bishop Denis Nulty, as well. Shortly, the Department of Education & Youth will publish each school's survey results on gov.ie. They will also publish a report setting out the high-level survey results at national level. You'll see in the survey results:-

  • the response rate of parents/guardians
  • the percentage preference shown in the results
  • the margin of error

On the survey results, the red line shows the margin of error. This gives a range around the survey result, showing how much the result might be higher or lower if all parents/guardians of children in the school had responded. As you can see our red line is not entirely above 50%. A red line over 50% would mean that it is likely that more than half of all parents prefer that option, even allowing for the margin of error.
The Department has asked that we circulate this to all parents, students, staff and school community members by sharing on the website. Early in September we will gather feedback from these groups to ensure that everyone has a chance to share their views. The Board will review this feedback in October and if a need for changes in configuration appears, inform the school Patron and the Department of Education and Youth.
